Daniel Sorobetea is a biologist at Karolinska Institutet in Sweden who is investigating how the immune system combats virulent pathogens. He obtained his doctorate at Lund University under the mentorship of Marcus Svensson-Frej, interrogating how intestinal parasites perturb immune homeostasis, and subsequently studied the impact of Rotavirus infection on the intestinal microbiota, under the guidance of Katharina Lahl. His postdoctoral research was conducted in the laboratory of Igor Brodsky at the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on the mechanisms of intestinal granuloma formation, which forms the basis of his independent laboratory.

Importantly, the person sitting behind Daniel in the above picture is a different Daniel, but a Daniel nonetheless.
